The NexAI Cyber Perspective

REITs are entering a new phase of technology risk. The market is trying to solve AI acceleration with more disconnected tools. That is not the right approach. The REITs that succeed will move from tools to governed operating models; replace static assessments with continuous assurance; map third-party dependencies by operational impact; and build evidence that controls are operating effectively.

NexAI Cyber notes that as real estate becomes more digital, connected, and AI-enabled, cyber resilience and governance are no longer back-office issues. They are core operating capabilities tied directly to growth, valuation, trust, and business continuity.

Futures in the green at the time of this writing as talking heads focus on a volatile week of treasury yields as “after the government’s efforts to stymie a selloff in the Treasury market. Bonds, particularly on the long end of the curve, have been under pressure as investors fear rising inflation due to higher oil prices.”

From Bloomberg

  • "US equities advanced, with crypto-linked stocks among the biggest gainers as Bitcoin headed for its best week in more than three years. Treasuries trimmed early gains as oil wavered.

  • S&P 500 futures were up 0.3%, while the index remained on track for its first weekly loss this month. Strategy Inc., Coinbase Global Inc. and Robinhood Markets Inc. rallied in premarket trading as Bitcoin raced toward $78,000. Europe’s Stoxx 600 was on course to dodge its worst run of losses in nearly a decade. Chipmakers drove an advance in Asia.

  • After days of swings that saw long-dated yields hit their highest levels in decades, Treasuries were little changed on Friday. Brent crude hovered near $94 a barrel. Gold hit the highest level since May. The dollar remained under pressure, falling 0.3%.

  • Investors are assessing the fallout from a week that saw bond yields spike on worries about inflation and spendthrift governments, a surge that prompted the Treasury to intervene to curb long-dated borrowing costs. They are now awaiting a promised new initiative from Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent aimed at fiscal consolidation."
